21 Days of Hygge: Dancing with Winter

This post begins my series of dancing with winter posts. I'll invite to stop what you're doing and take a few minutes to dance several times during this 21-day hygge extravaganza.

Let yourself go and dance like nobody's watching. Isn't that better than trying to force yourself to exercise?

Exercise is such an important resource for those who are challenged by winter's lack of much-needed sunlight. But getting yourself to do it is another matter altogether, right?

You can hygge exercise by making it fun. And for many of us, dancing won't even feel like exercise, precisely because it is fun. Is it for you, too?

The dance I'm suggesting today makes me happy every time I do it! And it has for decades,

Because it's a line dance, you can do it by yourself. And once you know it well, you can just get totally caught up in the joy of moving to music.

A neat way to hygge exercise! Want to try it?

It's The Electric Slide. Brought to you by weddings everywhere. ;)

Just in case you aren't sure how to do it, here's an instruction video. They throw in a lot of new add-ons you might like if you already know how and want to jazz it up a bit.

Neat, right? So that you know how, here's the actual video...

Want to try it with something really old school? It's a perfect match. Click the link for "Oh What a Night" (Jersey Boys version).

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

You had me until you brought up the Electric Slide. Here i was contemplating the variety of dance moves (from waltz to tango, from fox trot to frug) and you ruined the images.

I have always seen dancing as a form of exercise and I always envy those groups of people I see on TV having fun dancing a certain pattern to some Ol'Skool music. I always wanna join them lol! This post is awesome! I'll definitely put it to good use!

I am so glad you think it's a fun exercise, too! I use to say it was my sport. You know, when people ask you what sport you play? I always said dancing! :)
