I suggest making it a weekly event!
But at least once a month, call your closest friends & invite them over for comfort food & sweet treats. You provide the sweet tea and hot chocolate and let them do the rest.
Pajamas means that when they go home, they can go right to bed & sleep off the carb coma. :)
I would call it serotonin night, for all the good feelings that togetherness + lighthearted fun + sweet comfort food will create. Light candles, have a fire going in the fireplace and let the light add a little cheer, too.
If you're an introvert like me, let me point out that these could be your two closest friends.
Throwing a big party is more stress & pressure than it's worth when you prefer smaller gatherings or just a friend or two.
Variation: make it a family night, where you eat breakfast for dinner or let the kids stay up a little later on a weekend night to eat a sweet treat.
Make it hygge!
