"A lot has changed since Wanda Sykes emerged on the comedy scene in the '90s. The comic and actress, who got her start as a writer on The Chris Rock Show, has developed her personal brand as the industry has shifted alongside her. Today the comedian is most focused on what is most relevant in her own life, from her young twin children to her health to her family life."
Wanda Sykes is so funny when she does stand up comedy! Even if you only listen for a few minutes during your busy day, she will gift you with laughter.
So we've talked about Billy Crystal, Ellen Degenerous and now, Wanda Sykes. But there are so many great comedians out there, including some who have appeared on the scene more recently.
And I have seen some comedians in person!
I have seen Sinbad twice! I was in my 20s both times and went by myself because I was the only one of my friends who liked him. But he was hilarious!
And before Sinbad, I went to see both of Eddie Murphy's comedy movies, Raw and Delirious. They were both good, too.
And I also used to go to local comedy places when I lived in VA. Usually, they were people I'd never heard of, and I'd go just to have something to do. Even the bad ones were funny enough o make me glad I went, because I love to laugh ("ha ha ha ha").
Today, though, it's just so easy to wait to see them on TV. In fact, I watched almost every season of Last Comic Standing.
What about you? Do you like stand-up comedy? Who are your favorite comedians?
See you next time!
