He still said to seek Him first. I think there is something about that and that might mean getting up twenty minutes early that day to have that quiet time. Have it in the car before work, while you take a bath, or go on a prayer walk. Make your mountain moment with Him. It’s too important to miss. You can’t miss it! It’s a game changer.
What might your life be like if you could live it centered and grounded in rock solid faith about the good things God has in store for you?
When I first began reading this book, I felt a little intimidated. I'm progressive, liberal Christian, at most.
And I was sure that the author - a conservative Christian - had a stronger faith than I do, and maybe even a better relationship with God. But what I found was someone I could relate to, who became convinced by God’s promises.
The premise of the book is that if you truly understand what God has promised you, and you take him at his word, your faith will be transformed.
It will become a ridiculous faith that dares you to trust him in ways that don’t make sense on the surface. Things that seem and feel impossible, but have been promised to you by God.
Then in each chapter, she focuses on a God promise and tells a story or two that illustrates it in the life of someone she knows, and often in her own family’s life, as well. She dares the reader to trust God to do what he says he will, and then, backs it up with biblical examples and modern-day stories, as well.
I was moved to tears by many of the stories I read, and was encouraged and inspired by them, too. Ridiculous Faith might be just the book you need as you continue shaping your year.
Have you read any books that have helped you feel inspired and encouraged about this new year?
See you tomorrow!
