Are you like me? Do you look forward to celebrating Christmas all month long? I have for almost all of my adult life. And in my mind, the ideal cozy Christmas or hygge style is a 31-day extravaganza where every outfit, every day, says, "I know Xmas is coming." But I confess to you that I have often had a lower style budget than I wanted, and I have envied women who seemed to have all the Christmas style they could ever want. Catalogs would come in the mail, I'd drool over them, and then feel sad because I couldn't buy everything. And this Christmas, due to our ongoing pandemic experience, many of us will have emptier wallets than usual. But you can still style yourself for Xmas, even if you'll be spending most of this season at home. Read on, to discover how. Here's how to style your Christmas on a budget... (1) Haul out every red or green or ivory piece of clothing you own. Who cares if you didn't buy it for Xmas? The important thing is how you will feel when you know that you are wearing it to celebrate. (2) Pick your favorites and wear them as often as possible. Find one scarf or piece of jewelry and wear it, too. Below is a picture of my own Christmas capsule wardrobe... Ideas for a Xmas Daily Uniform & Outfit Formula The color palette: ivory + your red + your green (show all six) My hygge daily uniform: a duster cardigan column, inside or outside, with your best color combo. My own Christmas color palette & daily uniform... I only have one red top, a red print scarf and a red pair of shoes. But I have quite a bit of olive green and ivory. So those are the colors I will combine this Christmas. My Christmas-colored ivory/oatmeal and green, so that will be my outfit starting point, and the rest of my daily uniform will be a long-sleeved top and a pair of leggings, with either my red flats or my olive ones. How do you feel when the Christmas season comes around? Do you feel inspired to celebrate with style? And if you had a daily Christmas uniform, what would it be? See you tomorrow! Love, Jeanine

I just put most of my red and green and silver clothing pieces together in my closet. Well, I have a lot of red pieces because it is one of the colors that looks good on me. It highlights my dramatic personality, lol. Most of my clothes were given to me or I bought them at garage sales or in thrift shops. I have a very low budget for clothes but have been able to find them for not much money. Plus, I love Christmas so I am super excited about the upcoming fashion statements!

I definitely could use the tiniest bit more green and ivory in my wardrobe since I am not wild about red. I know I have read about your capsules but now I am feeling them and desiring them. This must be a new appreciation in 2020! Thanks for the nudge, again. Your posts always inspire me!

Now I am longing for a Christmas Gingerbread House! First and foremost.....Second, YES I love Christmas time as a child and even as an adult. It has been hard the last few years without Dad but I still have Mom and the dogs. (my family has been small my whole life, and honestly only gets smaller- my Mom has her brothers and sisters in CA way across the other side of the country. But they do not speak to me so I feel left out. Hygge style- I love this one! Now does that mean my workout clothes- yoga or doga pants, my comfy PJ's- my comfortble sneakers and slippers, so I can sit in front of my computer and work, after my morning workout- with my cup of cocoa(carob) or tea, and then cuddle all day with my dogs? Love the wear what you have- on the small budget!- I wish I could afford more too, glad to hear I'm not alone- or maybe someone who knew about the small budget. WHEW! Inspiration to mix and match- I do have a favorite comfy top although want to purchase a new pair of PJ's for the winter (FYI I actually saw them at PETCO-sshhh..... today!)

YES! That is great imagery of you being comfy cozy and cuddling with your dogs. But really anything in those colors, even something you plan to wear outside the house. But I will mostly be cozy at home, too! I know what you mean about missing your dad. I miss my mom the same way!!

That's wonderful that you will be staying in. I will, too, what with the pandemic still getting worse. I think your red absolutely will put you in the Christmas spirit. It does for me, too!

Jeanine, you are inspiring me to create my own secret Christmas joy. My enthusiasm for Christmas is nothing to do with Santa, but everything to do with Jesus' birth. That said, creating a core wardrobe for December would/will help me put on the spirit of the season in a way I had never thought to do. It will be our little secret. <3

Great idea! I don't wear much red, but I can surely do green and ivory!

I know what you mean! I only have one thing in red, myself, except for my shoes. Green and ivory would be perfect.
