"Layering is the key for spring months. During the colder weather you can add layers and when it is warmer, you can remove them. Bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the rain. And a scarf may brighten up your outfit with a subtle hint of color." ~ TravelFashionGirl.com
If layering is still important right now for you, then you want to keep your cardigans handy but you can probably put your lovely fair isle sweaters away. Keep one in the closet just in case, though, if your area weather occasionally surprises you.
So when asking about how to hygge a spring wardrobe, the primary consideration is how to bring all that cozy winter comfort into the gradually increasing warmth of spring.
How can we be cozy when we no longer need sweaters or coats or mittens or fuzzy socks?
The hygge goal: to be comfy & cozy enough in whatever you wear that you could wear them at home while drinking a cup of tea and reading a book. So I suggest knitwear.
Create a small knitwear capsule using cardigans, button-down sweaters or knit jackets you have already as a base so that on colder days, they can easily be drafted into use with the warmer pieces of your capsule. If your budget is small, choose 1-2 cardigans (etc.), find 2-3 light knit pairs of pants or leggings and add 2-3 tops.
Would that work for you? You also could add accessories, like a scarf or other jewelry, to tie it all together.
And today, might I suggest the wearing of the green? Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)
See you next time!
