You may have noticed the changes I have made in direction and focus for my website and blog. I blame the gingerbread snow globe!
Last year, well for over a year, I dedicated a website and blog to color analysis and style. I even refreshed my training and got re-certified to do both.
But not very many people found out about it, and my front door got a little dusty. We had a pandemic, and I know a lot of businesses were affected by it, and many people pivoted a bit in response.
I did, too. But possibly, not enough.
And it was hard to get the traffic I wanted, even when I was doing the 30-day blog challenges. They have always been a sure thing in the past, but they weren’t last year.
Clients were few and far between. And it was hard to blog only about color analysis and style.
So I thought, if I’m going to volunteer, and practically blog for free, I‘m going to have to have a lot more fun doing it! :)
Well, around that time, I moved, and dove deep into creating a home, decorating, and similar interests. I wanted to write about them, but didn’t want to completely walk away from style.
Having a lifestyle blog makes that possible. Though some lifestyle bloggers have a one-topic niche, many choose several.
And so, here we are. Gingerbread Cottage. My lifestyle blog.
Will I still write about color and style and capsule wardrobes? Absolutely!
Can I still show you how to put outfits together that you’ll love seeing in the mirror? Absolutely.
But, in addition to those topics, I am bringing back a lot of old favorites under one snow globe umbrella!
By the way, if you’re wondering where the snow globe comes in, read this page: the story of Gingerbread Cottage.
And onward, to a more warm and cozy winter, here at the blog, & to hygge lifestyle posts this month.
See you tomorrow!
