I am always so grateful for the Ultimate Blog Challenge! And I am particularly glad to have done so this month. Thanks to all of you other UBC bloggers who have come to see me here and welcomed me at your own blogs.

I hope to see all of you again in April when the next blog challenge begins.

Meanwhile, I loved sharing the hygge-your-winter experience with you guys. Did you find it helpful?

I'd love to know your thoughts!

But also tell me if I left anything out. What else would be helpful to you at this time of year?

Blessings to you as winter continues!

Love, Jeanine

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. I had never even heard of Hygge so your posts were very informative. I look forward to incorporating some of them into my life.

Hi thanks for introducing me to a new word that I have not learnt how to pronounce yet. From what I have read it comes close to my word "hug" because it makes you feel warm.
Only a couple of days until the midpoint of winter and only 6 more weeks of sliding downhill to spring. February 2, sometimes call "candlemas" for blessing of the candles; in Canada and USA, groundhog day. (UK use badger day).
So here is your hug from a Doug, and
Merry Merry February.

How sweet!! It's very nice to get a hug from a Doug, and thanks so much for your kind wish for February. I have heard more than one pronunciation of "hygge," but the one I think is right is "hue-geh."

I truly enjoyed your series this month. One thing that I learned is that I don't have seasonal affective disorder! I was sure that I did because of my depressed feelings during the winter. But... on the day that I walked ten miles through the wildlife sanctuary, I was so happy that day. That helped me to realize that I actually am prone to cabin fever and that cabin fever looks like seasonal affective disorder.

Alice, I am no doctor so I could not ever be the one to diagnose you, but if I walked through ten miles of sunshine (even if it was dim), I would be happy, too!

It's like the time I sat on a rock on the beach for 3 hours one February day and experienced nirvana! I'll never forget it. But my winter blues was back once I got back to the cold winter in my hometown. For me, that is the test.

Sunshine is powerful, and if you can get it every day, you might be able to eliminate winter blues symptoms. But if you find that even without sunshine, getting out makes you happy, then you might be right. Because from all I have learned, the symptoms will come back if you don't sustain the exposure to bright light.

But I hope you're right, because cabin fever sounds challenging but much less difficult. :) Love to you! -Jeanine
