Ready for 2020 to be over, so we can move on to something better next year? It all starts here!
It's getting close, now! The international year of misery is almost over and one filled with possibility will take its place.
Are you ready to embrace 2021, with an open heart?
If you haven't done so, yet, let's take some time now to begin to get clear on your wishes for 2021.
And may I just say, I am cheering you on to make them come true. With all my heart, I believe in you!
But first, here's something that will help us all get really clear about what we want in the coming year. That's the first step, that opens the door to possibility.
I was inspired by Sun Kissed Lex's post to create some journal prompts or questions for reflection that will help get you totally ready for a fantastic 2021! And I decided to answer a few myself.
Then, once you have answered them for yourself, I have a couple of free printable templates for you. Use the first one to list your dreams and wishes, and the second as a vision board template for the coming year.
Ready? Great! Let's dive into the questions...
Let's Start with this Holiday Season...
What was your favorite thing about this holiday season? Were you able to enjoy celebrating?
If you could create a holiday tradition of your own, what would it be? What would you celebrate?
Imagine & describe a post-Christmas day in the life of your favorite holiday character. What can you borrow from that imagined day to create a similar one for yourself?
What are the themes of your favorite holiday movies, that make you love them so much? What are some simple ways you could create them in 2021, for yourself?
In my favorite holiday movies, there's family togetherness, Christmas magic, and a character who lets go of the past, comes to believe in herself, and reaches for the life she wants. The one that's waiting for her. Right there, in that one long sentence is everything I want for myself in the coming year.
2020: A Year We'll Never Forget
What are your ten best memories from this year?
What positive things did you learn about yourself, your life, your strengths or your abilities this year?
What do you need to let go of, or heal, from 2020, so it doesn’t follow you into next year?
Take a moment to imagine tossing them into the fire below.
Then it's onwards and upwards, and we'll dream of a cozy winter and a year of harmony with your intentions.
My ten best moments include watching TV shows & movies with one of my friends, going to Olive Garden for my birthday, finding out that we were getting the apartment we just moved into this past fall, and reconnecting with my faith & spiritual practice in a deeper way. This year, I learned more about my true self, and was able to befriend, nurture, support & heal myself in ways I've been unable to before. I'm walking away from 2020 with the awareness that life is a lot more magical than I thought. And I'm ready to let go of self-doubt & this year's stress, pain, fear and hurt.
Let's Dream of a Cozy Winter
What are you looking forward to this winter?
Are there any potential winter challenges you want to get ahead of before they happen?
If you had to create an experience of winter hibernation for yourself, how would you do it?
How can you create cozy self-care routines that help make it a winter you’ll love?
What can you do during this winter’s potential lockdown that once it’s all over, you’ll be glad you did?
My apartment still isn't fully decorated. I'm looking forward to finishing it in 2021. Hmm - winter hibernation. I'd have to make sure I got my night-owl self to bed earlier, and I'd tip the scale toward rest & simple hunker-down delights like TV, movies, reading, sweet-smelling candles & cups of tea, and away from busywork. What do I want to be glad I've done? Write a book!
Onward to 2021!
Now, let's cross the threshold into the 2021 you want most...
What would “happy” mean to you in 2021?
What would “cozy” look like and feel like next year?
Are there any hygge lifestyle changes you want to make in the coming year?
What can I do, here, that would help make 2021 a great year for you? I really do want to know.
Happy - surrounded by coziness, with plenty of family time, and weight loss & blogging success.
Well done for giving some thought to those journal prompts, thinking about the year we're letting go of & the year to come! Now, I want to offer you one more source of wisdom and inspiration for 2021...
Gingerbread Reading - 2021
What if intuitive readings could be warm and cozy?
A lot of people choose a word for the year, each year. I’m offering a message or theme for the year, from the three that I felt guided to choose for you.
So, from these 3 cards above, choose the one you’re drawn to and then have a look at the messages below, to find the one that's a match.
LEFT CARD: What is 2021 calling you to become? There is a shift that will connect you more deeply to your authentic self. Do some journaling about this. What will this next iteration, in deeper harmony with who you are at the core, look & feel like? Give this shift permission to unfold in the coming year.
MIDDLE CARD: You deserve to take gentle good care of yourself in the coming year. Make a commitment to creating simple self-care rituals that will nurture and support you. Aim for a daily one. And at least one comforting, cozy go-to ritual or routine for days when you need a little extra self-care.
RIGHT CARD: 2021 is filled with possibilities. What do you want to create & experience as the year unfolds? It all starts with trusting that you know the answers already. That you know the path will take you where you want to go. Take some time to imagine creating the year that you want, and then, write down any thoughts that come to you about what to do next.
Now that you have had a big think about moving forward into the new year, I’ve got a way for you to cement your commitment to what you hope to create and experience.

Wondering if vision boards even work? Check out this video. I've got a story to tell you that I bet will convince you!
Take the time to envision the year unfolding in exactly the way you are hoping it will. I believe that when you do that, you are creating it, in spirit, and all that’s left to do is watch it materialize and enjoy it when it does.
Wishing you the happiest, best, most wonderful 2021 you can imagine!
