Welcome to Gingerbread Cottage!
Sit with me and I'll pour the tea and tell you the story of how Gingerbread Cottage came to be…
It starts with having two of the toughest years my little family of two has ever had! We were knocked flat. But isn't it Donnie McClurkin who sings, “we fall down, but we get up?”
Life began to get better and the time came to move out of a rather toxic situation. If you know me, you know how much I love to create home. Big time homebody, here.
And I couldn't wait to move into our own place again. But first, we had to find a place we could afford.
Well, I had a little quiet time ritual I did every day. I prayed, I meditated and visualized and felt into the home I wanted to create. And I had this little snow globe, that was sitting on a cup of tea (LOVE tea!) and it had a gingerbread home inside.)

It looked almost exactly like that one - sadly, the real one got lost in the move.
Anyway, I’d shake it and look at it, and intensify that feeling of home at the end of my quiet time each day. And I’d shake it again anytime I needed a one-second reminder that my home was on its way to me.
Confession: sometimes, I’d sing about and to this new home I wanted.
No, I don't mind if you think I'm a little weird. I am!
I also used a healing technique to help me get myself, and my doubts and fears and limiting beliefs out of my way.
And finally, about 3 months later, we moved in! Whoo hoo!!!!
But somehow, we moved in without my little snow globe friend. And I wanted a way to celebrate its role in helping me find my way home.
And that, new friend, is the story of Gingerbread Cottage!
Thanks for stopping by. Come back anytime. I’ll be glad to see you.
Love, Jeanine
P.S. Just want to mention that Gingerbread Cottage is a cute, little apartment, not a suburban house. If we move, everything that makes it Gingerbread Cottage will go with us, except for the snow globe, which is probably lost forever.
